Grand Prix of Alabama 2018 Live

You’ll want to watch IndyCar online or live Sunday to see if Penske will indeed continue to control this race, or if a driver like Max Chilton or Robert Wickens can steal a victory for another team. With the competition at a whole new level this season, this is still anyone’s championship to fight for, so here’s how to watch IndyCar online and live to keep up with the latest race in the 2018 IndyCar season.

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden delivered Chevrolet their first pole of the 2018 IndyCar season by taking the pole position for tomorrow’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at the 17-turn, 2.38-mile Barber Motorsports Park natural terrain road course in Birmingham, Alabama.Newgarden took the pole position in his #1 Chevrolet ahead of his teammate Will Power with a lap time of 67.4413 seconds (122.773 miles per hour) around the challenging road course. Power qualifying in 2nd place gave Chevrolet and Team Penske a front row lockout for tomorrow’s race.

However, behind Newgarden and Power were six straight Honda drivers from 3rd place all the way down through 8th, with Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais, Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, Andretti Herta Autosport’s Marco Andretti and Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi qualifying in 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th, respectively.
Aside of the top 2 qualifiers, the next highest qualifying Chevrolet driver was Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in 9th place. The highest qualifying non-Team Penske Chevrolet drivers were Carlin Motorsport teammates Max Chilton and Charlie Kimball in 13th and 14th place, respectively, following very solid qualifying runs for the sport’s newest teams.
