NBA Playoffs 2018: OKC Thunder vs. Utah Jazz Game 4 live stream: Watch online. 2018 NBA Playoffs Roundtable: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Utah Jazz Live TV Coverage.
The Utah Jazz were on the ropes in Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Already down a game in the series, the Jazz had just allowed a 19-0 run to see a nine-point lead turn into a 10-point deficit. Instead of completely folding, the Jazz responded behind a killer closing performance from Donovan Mitchell and pulled out a 102-95 win to tie the series at 1-1 as it shifts to Utah for Game 3 on Saturday night.
Mitchell scored 13 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter. Making his performance even more impressive was the fact he suffered a foot injury in the second half of Game 1 that clearly hobbled him at the end of that loss. It certainly didn’t bother him as he closed out the Thunder in Game 2.
Mitchell got enough offensive help from Ricky Rubio and Derrick Favors. Rubio recorded 22 points and handed out nine assists, while Favors scored 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting after a quiet Game 1.
Utah’s defense also deserves a ton of credit for shutting down Oklahoma City in the fourth quarter. The Thunder managed just 16 fourth-quarter points, with Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony missing all 14 of their shot attempts in the final frame.
Gobert’s presence clearly makes the Jazz a different team. After he missed 26 games, 15 of which were losses, the Jazz limped into the All-Star break with a 30-28 record and sat 9th in the Western Conference. Since then, with a healthy Gobert, the Jazz won 18 of their last 24 games (4th best in the NBA) and came within a game of finishing the season with a #3 seeding.
